About Us
The Story And Origin
Northern Sudan is known for its rich culture, the Nubians and their old Pyramids but little known of the diet and the type of food people eat. The dates pancakes will introduce you to the type of delicacy and the fine natural food people enjoy.
Not sure when it started but it is very old tradition. People make dates pancakes for women when they give birth as they believe the healing properties of dates will speed up the healing
Generations Apart
In the old days people used to travel for days to cross the desert or follow along the Nile to travel long distance on camels backs. They carry more dried food and often take dates pancakes with them. It lasts for days without spoiling because of the natural dates preserves. As recent as the last century when people travel by train, lorries, buses from the north to center or far south, they would pack a stack of dates pancakes and eat it in their way to their destination.
